I am a carpenter with five years of experience, and all I’ve heard about the islands (besides being a great place to call home) is that experienced carp.'s are a commodity. This is true in central VA where I’ve been working in and around Charlottesville for most of my career. The problem is: i no longer wish to remain in c'ville and i feel the island lifestyle as well as different culture would suit me well. So if anyone could put me in touch with a builder that i could correspond with before my move that would be great. I am semi job searching and this is the first outlet for me, so if you know anyone looking for a confident, competent carpenter, please let them or me know as it could get me down sooner and let me begin the adventure.

new construction on homes, but most recently a focus on historical renovations, which does include cabinetry. i would just like to speak with other builders in the area to ask questions that they will be able to answer.

Hello Derek,

I don't know any folks that you can have a one on one about the carpentry business with... What I could suggest is maybe calling a place like Customs Builders which does construction projects and inquire about openings and the possibility of a job for you/sending your resume ect... and while doing that ask the questions you might have. Their number is (340)775-2605 ...
