Yes. Husband called and said the same thing--and I got no answer at the emergency outage # till after 8:30---when they told me they knew, and techs are working on it...Our neighbors use satellite, so sometimes it's hard for us to know--just us or all? This time it seems east end....
One annoying part is that you can't get credit for their outage time--unless it's days---I'd take a half-day credit for 12 hours out...

Is your cable back on yet? Ours is still out, and woman at cable seemed clueless.

This is probably the same service that didn't answer at 7 this morning. The woman did, however, tell me now that they have a 'serious problem' on the east end--and that they are working on it. For sure, I'm calling tomorrow for a credit...hopefully it will be fixed soon. Of course, whatever the credit it won't cover the bill for tonight--since hubby went into town, rather than sit in a empty house (I'm in the states) with no television---can't say I blame him...I do the same when the power is out at night!

Curious about the satellite service in STX. Is it DirecTv? I honestly thought Innovative Cable was the only option. The house I bought is already wired for cable so it seemed like the logical choice but I'd prefer satellite.

Your choices for satellite are Dishnetwork(best, same as in the states but you need bigger dishes) or DirecTv Latin America(not the same as DirecTv in the states).

I think the best choice is Dish Network you will get the best price and stateside packages. Directv is the latin American version it has allot of the stateside channels but not all. Directv is from P.R the only local channels you will get are the Puertorican one's. Also be reminded that Dish network installation in the Island is triple or more than stateside depending on the package you'll order you may need 2 dishes and this ones are 6 feet dishes. The signal is good but every time it rains you will loose the signal.

Funniest thing this am--someone called Roger Morgan's radio program, and Roger, who'd been mentioning this week his inability (for months) to get a cable box (so you know his likely feeling re Innovative at this point) gave out the direct phone number for Jennifer Malanga King, who is apparently President of Innovative, and who spoke to him at the chamber affair last night. He suggested calling her--and I bet lots of people did. I heard it but also got a call from my hubby who heard it as well, and he had also copied down the number for us to use. Well, I figured I'd just give it some time, and waited a half hour or so. Called the rregular repair number--the one that had not been answered over the last two days--and got the correct recording, and a CSR got on the phone! She didn't deny my suggestion that they had heard from Ms King, who cound not have been happy---
Anyway, they claim there is a fiber optic problem and that it is a big problem, and they have NO idea as to a time frame for restoration of service. You'd think they could put an announcement in the paper or on the radio...
Note also--you have to specifically call and report your cable is out NOW, if you want to get credit for these days. They will NOT automatically give anyone a credit.

A friend in Cotton Valley called Innovative today (got through to them about 11am) about her cable being out and was told by Innovative they were upgrading the fiberoptic cable and the cable would be out for 2 days. She gave her account number and was told she would get a credit for the day(s) her cable was out. (I'll believe this when I see it). I think Chicken Charlie's has DishNetwork (or at least they used to). Anyone with DishNetwork satellite tv IS NOT affected by this problem. Hmmm....maybe time to switch to DishNetwork even if it costs more for the bigger dishes, at least I would be "Innovative Free". I've heard over the years that after Hugo the cable was out on some places on island for 8 months! I can't live without tv that long!

I'm an authorized Dishnetwork retailer on STX.
Basic system is one 4 foot dish with dual lnb that will run 2 receivers.
That will get you satellite 119 and over 200 channels.
Multiple dishes will get you additional channels and some HD content. More HD coming soon.
Rain can cause signal loss but most people find it minimal unless they have an issue with the hardware or pointing.
NEVER down for long.
PM me. I can help!

got our bill and Innovative gave us credit for TWO DAYS service, even though the cable was out more than a week, and no credit on the charges for any of the boxes at all...Guess I start writing letters tomorrow. Not that it will necesarily do any good.
