Hello all,

I was wondering if a 1996 Cadillac was to big of a car to have in St Thomas, as far as narrow streets and parking?

Thank You,
MLogan

Hello MLogan,

There are folks who drive pretty large SUV's, trucks, taxi vans and safaris here - so if you are comfortable driving it then it would be fine for the main roads. Some of the really narrow side roads and some driveways would be a real challenge for a large vehicle.

Anyone else have an opinion on this?

1996 Cadalic - You plan to park down town? Better yet gas price $2.10/gallon and rising. I have a Navigator, so we are really in the same land yacht .. I mean boat.

Bring your car, but don't complain about the small parking spots when you get here.

A MiniCooper is the right car for the islands. Well I haven't seen one here yet ..but..
With the narrow roads and limited parking I am always telling people to get a small car that fits the parking places and the streets. People who insist on having huge SUVs or oversized luxury sedans are not doing any of us a favor. They are just having "ego" problems. Please drive a car that fits the island... Unfortunatly St Croix has (at least until now) had affordable gasoline. That is no excuse to damage the island ,the infrastructure and the envirnoment.....
