Just some random ideas: Try a different memory card, preferably empty. Try new batteries. Any other symptoms or error messages?

Based on one of my most embarrassing moments: It sure sounds like an easy fix might be a new set of batteries, and make sure that they are in the correct position. I know how to read the symbols but when someone gave me the same advise, what a surprise to find that the batteries were in wrong.

Thank you for the suggestions! We have tried all those things. 🙁 So anyone know a repair guy?

In this day when electronics are considerably more intricate than in the past and are usually cheaper to replace than repair, I fear the neighborhood repairman has all but disappeared. You have a camera that's not too old, so you can probably deal with Olympus to get it fixed. Check out:

If it's one that's in their computer system (and there's a good chance it is--they sell Olympus), then Radio Shack can send it to their service center in PR for repair.

Thanks Stephyih, never thought about that. We did send it back to Olympus to be repaired, hopefully we get it back in time for some snorkeling trips! 🙂
