Hi, I recall a thread about a place to camp on St John that is not one of the regular places like Cinnamon, Maho, or VIERS I think it was only a few spaces, an outhouse, and a rustic food prep area: no office or fee. Does anyone know this place?
Thanx, Congasan

I didn't think there was any place like that on STJ. Are you sure it wasn't on STX or STT?

Miss Vie's on the East End has some camping that's like what you describe, but it's not free -- she charges a small fee.

YES! I think that is it. Can anyone describe where it is at? Phone# maybe? Thank you so much.

Direx to Vie's -- Go east on Centerline Road, a mile or two past the turnoff to Coral Bay, until you go down a hill and get to a tamarind tree in the middle of the road -- just past Haulover Bay. Vie's Snack Shack is on the left; her beach and campground are on the right.

I don't have a phone number, but you might ask at some of the tourist forums: www.virgin-islands-on-line.com/ and http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowForum-g147409-i432-St_John_U_S_Virgin_Islands.html. I think there are folks around who've stayed there.

If you find out more info, please post it here for the benefit of those searching for it in the future!

The number I have for Vie's is 340-693-5033. It's a good flat spot with some good snorkeling in a protected bay. There's a few trees with a bit of shade. You'll need wheels to get out there.

Cheers, RickG

I know nothing about them personally, but I saw this ad in the Love City Trader. Typed exactly as it appears:

Campground in Peter's Bay, St.John Cottages, eco-tents and bare sites. Call for rates: 340-998-1504 or e-mail botanicalvillas @ yahoo . com.
