Well here I set in winter Ohio thinking about moving to Stx. Just got done shoveling snow and trudging through it to put some articals in my camper for winter storage. MY CAMPER!!!!
Has anyone had any experiance with camping trailers on the islands? I wouldn't need a campsite just somewhere safe to park it with electricity and sewage disposal. I figure the cost of shipping it there would be off set by the money I could save once I got set up. All the comforts of home on wheels.

I wasn't sure if you meant a camper on the back of a truck or a camp trailer on its own wheels. There are some areas on STX where land is available for sale pretty cheaply that might work OK for setting up a trailer. Theoretically a camper on a truck could also be accommodated. Finding an area where plat restrictions do not require a regular house of a minimum size would be the key. Typically there is power up to the vicinity of a piece of property and a septic and drainfield or a composting R/O system could be put in to deal with sewage.

There are some mobile homes on the island... though not all that many. If you are setting up a trailer, I would strongly advise putting in some strong concrete anchors for securely fastening the trailer down to so you have a little more security in the case of a strong tropical storm or... God forbid... a hurricane.
