If I were to relocate with my vehicle... how do I get to the islands?

Contact Lee with Managed Freight and he'll give you the low-down on the whole deal, depending on your current location, which may include trucking your vehicle to Florida or wherever it needs to be and putting it on the boat...and do a search on this message board and check the FAQs and you'll figure out whether it is worth the hassle and whether your car is "island worthy" or not...and PAY someone to license it, sure does make it easier! If you still have a lien against it, the company holding the note may answer your question for you - some will not allow you to, some require a letter to let you take the car off the mainland.

I always vote for selling your vehicle in the States and getting one once on island. There are plenty for sale here. Yeah, they cost more here, but when you figure out all of the costs of shipping, paying for road tax, registration, etc., and all of the hassles that go with it, you'll be better off buying on already on island. And,most people find that they don't need the same type of vehicle here that they had in America.

Hi there,
Personally I am glad I shipped my car, and if I had to do it all over again I would go through every hassle I had to to have my car here.

It takes patience, but it was worth it to me.

I live on STX and have a 10-year old Plymouth Voyager I brought over 2 years ago. It has done well.
