Good Afternoon!
Does anyone know if I can cancel my (STX) Innovative Cable TV service indefinitely (NOT vacation mode) from the States??
I'm afraid they will require me to bring the converter box back, which I can't quite do if I am not on island !!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!

Cancelling shouldn't be a problem by phone.

You should have had to post a deposit for the box, so not returning you will lose deposit, and might incur additional cost.

Call Innovative, Im sure you will get the answers

I am afraid to call them!!
When I called to put the cable on vacation mode this spring the lady was not very nice, and said I had to wait the six full months (of service) before I could put it on vacation mode!! I had to pay the full cable bill for two months without being there!!
They will probably turn it back on now, and I won't be there!!

That is why I am asking here if anyone has had to actually deal with this from the States!! So I can prepare myself for what might happen.
Any help ??????!!!!!
Thanks!!

You'll need to return the cable box to get your deposit.
Is there anyone that can do that for you. (it's asking a lot!)
If you call, ask to speak to a manager.
She can also verify the vaction mode payment status.

If you have someone return your cable box for you, I believe Innovative is going to want something in writing from the account holder, authorizing that person to act on your behalf. That document used to have to be notorized. Of course, that was years ago. Who knows what their "rules" are now. Good Luck!

Lucky Girl is right. If someone does it for you, you have to give them authorization to give to whatever entity whether it's WAPA, Cable TV, etc., to act on your behalf, in writing.

Just stop paying them and forget about it. They'll go away.
