I don't understand what the hold up is. On the mainland elections systems would release election results in a big city, with hundreds of precincts in less than30mins. Here, there are only 14 and they cant do it in 3 hrs, this is ridiculous.

I would guess that those mainland election systems use tallying machines at the polling place. If you've paid any attention to this debacle of an election in the VI, the ballots will be hand checked and fed into machines by BOE staff eventually- with some being hand counted. Neither timely, nor secure.

It is so unfair to all candidates, especially the ones facing run offs. Had they properly given voters the option to scan their ballots, this would not be happening.
