We are coming down hopefully sometime June or July for a month to look for some more places to buy. Anyone know how much or where to rent a car and a place to stay for a month thanks

Car rental rate varies by car size. Centerline is local and will be cheaper unless you have a discount rate with Hertz or Budget. Also note that most personal auto insurance policies will only cover a limited number of consecutive rental days, like 21.

Avis is another option & they have special rates for AARP
members. Actually using a major credit card like American Express, will cover you for insurance 30 days at a time. We winter in STX for 3 months & Avis does 3 seperate invoices on our Amex card.

Arawak Inn on the North Shore close to Salt River Marina might be a good option for lodging.

Why not use the internet to get the telephone numbers and call some rental companies directly?

I know...that's too easy.

When we went a few weeks ago we used Aquarius Car Rental. Within 30 minutes they had us in a New Jeep exploring the island. The owner is super cool. Pricing is very very affordable. Highly recommend it.
For a place to stay we stayed at the Cruz bay boutique hotel and it was perfect. It was nice and homey with a patio. Room service everyday, tv, free WiFi and free breakfast every morning!
