We're looking at living at a condo at the Carambola Villas on St. Croix. Would appreciate hearing first-hand and even second-hand opinions and experiences.

Pros & Cons of living there.
A good value for what you get?
Thoughts on the location.
Management and neighbor issues?
Cautions.
Resale stories.
Alternative suggestions ("If you like Carambola Villas, then you'll love ______.")
Etc.

We like the area, the condos themselves, the landscaping/setting, and the fact that they're close to certain things but a bit off the beaten track.

Pros:

Great golf course

Very lush grounds.

Con:

A long drive from Christiansted, particularly at night and if the brush hasn't been cut back.

No ocean views.

Jim

These are the pros and cons based upon our personal experience:

Pros:

Beautiful landscaping
Safe
Good breeze
Beautiful hillside views
Great tennis courts
We've had a wonderful experience with neighbors
Well-maintained grounds and pools
Close to the beach (Carambola Resort, Cane Bay)
8 minutes to Plaza west 🙂
Great walking opportunities
Quiet for condo living
Out in "the country"
Fruit trees: mango, avocado, carambola, grapefruit

Cons (for us):

Same as Jim
Privacy (we would find this a con in any condo living arrangement anyway)
Limited child population. People are great about it, but we are always trying to keep our kid noise to a minimum so as not to bother the neighbors.

Feel free to pm me with questions.
