ABC WPRU channel 20
NBC WVGN channel 14
FOX WSJX channel 24
The CW WSJP channel 17
Independent channel WVXF channel 10

All in standard definition.

These are all simulcasts of what Puerto Rico is seeing. NBC and the Independent channel originate on STT, the others appear to be east coast feeds.
CBS is still missing but available through All American Direct.

While building accounts today they all qualified for networks and there wasn't an extra charge.
These channels are all on satellite 110, transponders 25 and 29, which are spotbeams. Spotbeam = super strong signal.

Rhstoo, They should populate on the guide. If not, call Dish.

LindaJ, LOL Nice comment. I know you're a big fan of Innovative cable but....... Many people have held off getting Dish due to the perceived hassle with the networks and extra costs. This is definitely a step forward and none back. Dish offers so much more than cable!!
If you tried Dish these days you'd realize that.

I often hear the question "What about a storm?" I'm hearing about people's cable that is still out from Irene! Dish worked right through the storm.
Very few dishes required tuning after Irene or Omar. The ones that did, and contacted us, got fixed the next day.

I suppose for those newbies that don't know I should disclose that I am an Authorized Dish Network Retailer. 10 years on St Croix

The loss of the networks in HD was a giant step back. We had them for years, first from Dish then from AllAmericanDirect (now Sobongo). Then they took them away in January.

The way things are going we will get the networks in HD via the Internet before we get them on Dish. I know that I am spending more time watching Netflix Streaming, Hulu+, Crackle and Blinkx than I am Dish.

But the new season is starting and the new network programs in HD will be missed. The new shows are available directly from the network's web site. If not in HD at least the aspect ratio is 16:9. Pretty soon we won't even need Dish we will be able to get everything via the Internet.

As of right now (8:51pm Sat nite) -channel guide starts at 1 & skips to 71 -- Will these channel numbers be as you listed them Sky?
Maybe tonight when the system does the daily re-boot/upgrade ck, it will download them.

I asked Dish where they are.
here's the answer below.

sloop

We apologize for the inconvenience but there have been some systemic issues with the launch of the local channels for USVI and we have been told that they have already been or will soon be resolved. You should begin seeing them soon on your showroom account (if not currently seeing them) on the channel numbers indicated in the Programming Notice attached above.

Since I get satellite 119, does that mean I can't get the new channels?

So what is the deal now? I am getting Channel 8 WSEEP which seems to be CBS but the guide is showing the same programming as Channel 10 an independent channel.

Rotor, I noticed that too the other day. The guide was the same but the programming wasn't. Seems to be a glitch in the guide.

Another observation is the World Series isn't being carried by the Puerto Rico FOX simulcast. However All American Direct feeds from NY are certainly showing the games. For those with AAD networks,...you might want to monitor these new networks before cancelling. Seems to be a lot of infomercials. Reminds me of local channel 8

I have stuck with my local network feed from NYC (All American Direct) and glad I did.
