Hi to all, and apologies for my general cluelessness -
I think that Carnival is going on on STT this week and weekend. I had heard there was a children's parade. We have been on STX for 2 weeks with our little kids and wondered if Carnival would be a fun time to visit STT - or if it would be way to crazy/crowded/etc. Any advice from those who live there or have been there?

If you do recommend it - is there a ferry to STT?
What day and time is the children's parade?
I assume we wouldn't bring our car if there was a ferry, so would there be good public transport (taxis) during Carnival, or would they all be too busy?

I hope everyone is enjoying it. The pictures of the winners of the junior Calypso contest were awesome.

Children's parade is next Friday. April 25th starting at 10am. You can find a full list of events at

www.vicarnival.com

At the top right there is a link to a PDF of the schedule of events.

I assume ferries run as scheduled. You might check the schedule for the ferry from Christiansted (Gallows Bay) to Charlotte Amalie and then you won't need to take a taxi anywhere because it will drop you right in town.

Leaving STX 7:30 am Arriving St. Thomas 9:00 am
Departs St. Thomas 6:45 pm

Check in is 30 minutes prior
$90 round trip/$80 children - 90 minute ride

VI SEATRAN - 776-5494

Thank you so much!!!!! I really appreciate all the web sites and phone numbers! It is pretty expensive to get there, huh. Oh well, we will think about it.
