Does anyone know anything about that motor cat anchored off the fort? Looks like something from War of the Worlds!

Probably sounds like the new ferry to STT being tested.

Nope! New ferry is still being outfitted. It won't start sea trials for at least two more weeks.

New ferry got dropped in the water a week ago. I would have thought they started the sea trials by now, they are planning on first launch mid June.

When placed in the water it was a big empty. Nothing in it. No engines, seats, railings, electronics... They used one of the launch cranes to place the two Cummins engines into their compartments after it was in the water. Still work to be done.

hubby looked it up yesterday. said it was owned by a family who is sailing around the world.
i think 140 feet. beam is pretty big but also takes into consideration the 2 pontoons on either side-to me that does not count as beam since probably not really livable space. dont recall hubby giving me the name of the yacht. i think it was built in china for the family who are sailing it

Holy crap. Maybe that's what we need to motor on over to STT.

It's called Adastra. Registered in Hong Kong.

I saw her pulling out of C'sted yesterday morning. 40 minutes later I saw her cruising pass the F'sted pier.

25L of fuel per hour... Jeebus, the operating costs alone....

That's boats for you. For a time I worked on an ocean tug almost exactly the same length as Adastra. Our fuel consumption was 39.2 GALLONS per hour.

If you can afford that boat you don't care about the fuel costs.

Online tracking indicates she's heading to the Panama Canal. What a cool thing to see.

I was at the pier diving yesterday before lunch. I saw it there. It was more out toward the point. I had no idea what it was and when I asked some people on the pier they told me what they had read in the paper. It looked crazy and cool.

That is one cool toy. Looks like something from 007 movie.
If I could afford it I would liquidate all my real estate assets and made it a permanent domicile. Just add some square sails. 7 gallons per hour to run this thing is very frugal.

Ha! I was thinking that it was a perfect yacht for James Bond, myself.
It is very futuristic looking.
It certainly draws the eye.
I could be quite at home on it.:@)

I'll bet it would count when you try to dock it between some pilings.
