Cell Phone Tower by Lime Tree Beach

Anybody else having trouble with AT&T cellphone service by Lime Tree Beach (Bluebeard's Beach Club)? After a few phone calls with AT&T, apparently they "moved" one of their towers from nearby Lime Tree to on top of Flag Hill (where the sky ride goes to). While this seems ridiculous at first (who honestly moves a tower?), it apparently is true after talking to a few different sources. They figured reception would be better for everyone at the higher location, except now there are a few apartments and the resort which are sheltered by the side of the hill (since the hill is steep, you can't see the crest from the bottom).

I'm not having trouble with my phone, but my internet is an AT&T mobile card. The network recently was "upgraded" to 3G. Once in a while the 3G kicks in and is very fast, but most of the time my internet is much slower than it was before the upgrade! 🙁 Anyone else have a mobile card for their laptop and experiencing the same thing? Also about 1/2 the time it says it is connected but I can't get on to the internet, for instance I have tried posting this 3 times now and it says internet explorer can't be found etc..

I live in Frenchman's and was having problems with reception on my AT&T phone. Called and they told me the tower was degraded and they were having their engineers repair. Today it seems to be working again.

While using a headset, I'm sure. (Just kidding! The last thing I want to do is open that can of worms again...)

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm glad to hear that they're telling people to wait for it to get better, which is a different story than what I heard and the moved tower. Hopefully things will get back to normal. One of the reasons I chose my apartment was the good cell phone service I had here.

I live off the cliff on the east side of peterborg. Been here for several years. Never got good reception from AT&T, but get great reception from the boat towers at $3.99/minute. Good news is ATT has a plan for ~$5 per month that brings that down to $1.99 per minute. No thanks. I signed up for Innovative $29.99 per month unlimited to main land on a hard line.

Nice part is that their tower is right up the street. I can almost see if from my house. Called them once again this month to complain about how sucky the reception is and they said they are adding a tower west of here that should help. Suppose to be done by now. i don't think so. Don't hold out any hope because they have lied to me in the past and we are too few on the cliff for them to care about.

Have to give them credit. I've had a $350 surprise phone bill (from the boat/BVI towers) they forgave and had a worker here this fall who ran up a $700 phone bill they also forgave. These bills can give your heart pause....but they were good about refunding - at least first offense.
