So as we're packing up to move to STX Jan 2, my boyfriend, the addict he is, wonders if he should take down a carton of cigarettes... so my question is- how much are cigarettes in the VI? Namely, Camel Lights? Im hoping he'll run out and they'll be so expensive he'll just quit, but he says we just wouldn't be able to eat dinner that night. 🙂

Bad news if you're looking for a reason to make him quit. Cartons of smokes cost about $20 here on STT. Camel Lights are in just about all the bars for about $3 a pack.

In a nutshell, anything good for you is expensive and hard to find. Anything bad for you is plentiful and cheap. Cigarettes, drugs, alcohol, and bad food are everywhere, while finding healthy alternatives is difficult and a real hit on the wallet.

The new health food store beside Food Town (STX) is great. The name is Le'Khaime. The shelves are practically bare, but the lunch counter is awesome. Great soup and $5.00 lunch plate special.

I love how a question about cigarettes turned in to a health food discussion. Awesome 🙂

Better than a health food discussion turning into cigarettes, eh?

Agreed Juanita!!

Yes, this place ROCKS!!!

They have cream of coconut and lentil soup that is SOOOO good and only $3-4 for a large container! In fact i have the menu in front of me, thay make a diff soup every day! I stick with healthy soup cause i cant handle bean curd and lettuce sandwiches or TOFUrky... hehe

Come on Cory, branch out! I love the curry tofu, quinoa and the carrot supreme. That's what they have on Friday, along with the lentil soup.

My husband was really nervous that we were going to have Tofurkey for Christmas dinner. But we were invited to friends', so he was "saved". :@)

Le'Khaime...is that kosher, as in L'Chaim - "to life"?
