We are working with Air Propel to transport our two dogs to St. Croix. We are looking to transport the dogs around August 15th or the beginning of September. The cost is cheaper when there are more people to share the flight. If anyone is looking to transport pets either to or from the Virgin islands mid August or September please contact Lauren at airpropel 340-626-1703 or mail@airpropelcharters.com. It would be great to share a charter and keep cost down.
Thank you,
John

Sorry, The charter is from Fort Lauderdale or Miami. I believe it is Fort Lauderdale. We live in Pittsburgh and will have to drive down with the dogs. We have a large dog which makes using a commercial plane impossible, plus the temps this time of year would not permit it. with AirPropel the dogs or cats are just like passengers and ride in the cabin with you so air temp is not a problem.

We have two confirmed parties that will be sharing this charter on August 15th. We would love to get one or two more parties to join us. The more that go the cheaper the cost to all. If you are looking to move a pet to or from The Virgin Islands please PM me or contact Airpropel directly. The plane will go between Fort Lauderdale executive airport and STX and STT. Thank you
John

Hi there,
we are moving to St. Thomas from Colorado around the 3rd of Sept. and are looking for options for our 40ish lb. dog to get there and we are very worried about high temps and too many connections on the large airlines. Do you have any information about this charter company and what price range this service would be? Thanks!

I contacted airpropel about pricing - it started at $15K - people plus pets FLA to STT - it seems like you would have to have a group to make it anywhere near affordable..

We have three groups going on the 15th so we are looking $5,100 if another party joins it will be a little
Over $ 3000. Yes, the only way to make it affordable is to have at least 3 or 4 parties split the cost. Yes, it is expensive but for big dogs or during the summer months options are limited.

Also I hear about delta flying from Georgia to STX starting soon. Will be a shorter drive for us from NJ.. $3000 still lots of money. Just my wife and I and my dog under 1000 in American .

October will still be fairly hot on STX. Cooler weather is November to April.

We are definitely flying the dogs down on the 15th. We still have three parties splitting the cost. The
delta flight sounds like a great option but our Mickey is part Great Dane and is too big for a 300 series crate and we can't wait till Dec.

Yeah when we brought our Great Dane, Turbo, down we had to cut the ends off of two of the biggest crates they had in 1981, and rivet on a section of aluminum with a few layers of fiberglass to bring him down, and he still didn't fit. I remember my dad bribing the people at the airport because the dog was over the weight limit, which if i remember correctly was 198 pounds.

Here is a picture of him a bit older in age on STT:

Be very cautious of AirPropel. It is not the air carrier. It is a service that hooks people and pets up with charter carriers.

My friend was all set to fly her pets from St. Croix to Florida. The plane had mechanical issues and could not pick her up in St. Croix. So, she chartered another plane to St. Thomas and the plane that was supposed to fly her and the dogs to Florida also had mechanical issues.

She had to board her dogs at a vet, stay a few days at an expensive hotel until she finally cancelled the trip with Airpropel. She ended up chartering another local plane to take her and the dogs to Florida.

The last I heard, she was battling with Airpropel to get her money back because she never used their services. Their charter planes were unusable but they would not refund her any money she had paid! Buyer beware!!

We may be interested in the August/Sept flight as well. Alternatively, we may talk to a vet in the Tampa area who does private charters in her own plane. We'll have three cats. May be room for another pet and person.

It went very well. My wife drove our dogs from PA to the Fort Lauderdale business airport. There was one other party on the flight with a dog and two cats going to St. Thomas. They flew to STT and dropped of the other party then flew to St. Croix. Our dogs ( and my wife 🙂 ) arrived safely. I would use their services again. Hope this helps.

May I ask who the vet in Tampa is? My husband, 3 dogs, bird and myself are moving to St. Croix in May 2016 if we can just figure out an affordable way to get us all there! Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!!

This is an old thread but the contact info is:
Lauren at airpropel 340-626-1703 or mail@airpropelcharters.com.
Very expensive even if you can get others to share flight.
Call for info.
