I remember reading about one airline provider that is usually the cheapest out of the rest going to and from the USVI. Does anyone have any idea which one has the best rate?

I usually find the cheapest flights at Travelocity. I select the destination, click on the flexible dates option. Then I see what is available during the travel dates that I need. It really pays to be flexible. Generally it is cheaper to fly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We will be traveling to STT on the 27th from the Chicago area for $267.00 roundtrip.

I found some great prices for flights in April on the American Airlines' website. From Los Angeles, my wife and I got two round trip tickets for 300 each. Tax and fees included.

Best places to look hands down are www.sidestep.com and www.kayak.com. Spirit Air sometimes has ridiculously cheap flights coming to STT. You should check them out. They've had a lot of sales lately as well.

I will second the sidestep.com comment. The reason it is better than travelocity, orbitz, expedia, etc., is because it will search multiple carriers. So it will tell you if you can take AA to San Juan then Cape Air for the last leg. Best to know all your options.

Cheapflights.com. They search several carriers at one time.

I have always had good results from Travelocity. I usually book into San Juan, and then separately look for the cheapest flight from SJU to STX. American, American Eagle, Spirit, and Cape air are usually the most reasonable (but not always.) Miami also now has a direct flight into STX. Ft. Lauderdale has a direct flight into STT on Spirit that is really nice 🙂

Regards,
Dante

Charlotte N.C now has direct flights to STX on Saturdays and direct flights to St. Thomas at least twice a week.

Get a Citi Bank, Master card with a frequent flyer account through American Airlines. Our tickets to St X are around $30.00 each, Just use it for everyday life and pay it off every month you will be surprised how fast the mileage adds up. You can work around black out dates they send you a schedule.
