Considering a move to STT or STJ. Born and raised in Chicago. Any Chicagoans who have made to move?

Spent thirty five years in the Chicago land area before moving to STX.

Think of it as moving to Rockford with an ocean and a better climate. If you need all the conveniences of a big city then the VI won't be for you.

Come on down for a PMV and see how it suits you. I love the VI, but it is a small place in a big world.

larfla,

My husband is born and raised in Chicago (Oak Park-Riverforest area), we bought a condo 3 years ago on STT and visit as often as we can until we eventually make the big move once our 2 youngest children graduate from school. Living 4 hours away from Chicago I've mastered cooking my husbands favorite Chicago style foods: Gino's East deep dish pizza and Johnny's Italian beef sandwiches. If you make the big move and we are on island I'll cook up a little taste of Chicago and have you over.

I dread having to think about going through another midwestern winter but still have a few more to go. Good luck on your research!
