Children's Summer Camp

I am in the early stages of planning an extended stay next summer - probably 6 weeks. 2 of those weeks will be vacation time for me , but the other 4 will be work weeks so I will need to have activities for my daughter for that month. I would like to consider summer camp.....

Two options that have been suggested are:

1. Girl Scout Camp - she does this in the states and really enjoys it.
2. Yacht Club camp - never done before

Any input on either or both would be appreciated! My daughter will be 9 at the time.

Thanks all!

Blu

There are many summer camps. Remember that they are usually the third week of June through the end of July. Very few camps in August. Never heard of the Girl Scout Camp. The yacht club camp I have heard favorable comments. I sent my 11 year old to the Lutheran Church of the Reformation Camp this summer and LOVED it. They did academics in the morning and the afternoons were full of activities. They did everything they could think of on St. Thomas and St. John. Movies, mall, beaches, water park, coral world, and on and on. They did lots of activities at the camp in the afternoons also. At the end some of the children (older ones) went to Washington DC for 5 days. It was great. And they had lots of counselors and teachers who were wonderful.

You have to be a member of the Yacht Club in order to enroll in the camp!
