My wife and I live in Cleveland but we'll be spending Jan-Apr on STX next year. We're curious if there are any other Clevelanders/former Clevelanders hanging out on the forum, or somewhere in the broader STX social network.

I am originally from Bay Village. There are a lot of Ohioans in StX, I think.... I was sitting in a bar once, talking to the lady next to me, and she was saying that she was from Parma... I said "I'm from Bay Village" and some guy in passing yelled "I'm from Lakewood!" Whenever we meet new people from Ohio, my partner likes to say "Did anyone remember to turn the lights off when you all left?"

Hi there!

We live in Chagrin Falls! We wish we were in STX full-time...until we can be, we have a vacation rental on the east end that lets us be in STX ( at least in mind and spirit and through our guests!!) while sitting in Cleveland...sigh...it's a bear during the winters....this forum helps pull me through! There are other posters here from near Cleveland as well! Will this be your first trip to STX? ENJOY!

We've been visiting STX since 2003 and own some land on the North Shore. We're really looking forward to escaping the winter--it's the first time we've done anything like this. Where on the East End is your condo? We're renting a place at the Reef.

Ohio . . . the best place to be FROM 🙂 I am from South Euclid and my husband is from Northwest Ohio. PM us when you're on STX and we'll get together to laugh at the lake effect snow that Cleveland is enjoying while you're here!!

Am also a Buckeye. We need to start a club so we can all get together to watch the Browns, Bengals, and Buckeyes.
I am from the Central Ohio region. Granville to be exact. Home of Denison University. Anyone know of it?

we spent a weekend hanging out in Granville. Pretty town. Went to a fun bar downtown, but can't remember the name of it.

The name of the bar in Granville where you hung out could have been "Brews". How long ago? Granville does not have many bars at all.
There are several Granvilleites here. We all went to school together.

Just got back from Ohio last Friday (Oct. 3rd) everyone up there is into the Buckeyes now.

That might have been it. It definitely had a great selection of beers. We were there last year around this time. It looked like it had been there for a while.

I will have to give a shout out for Cleveland's West Side, right off the shoreway. I think the beaches here are a tad better than Edgewater Park :). I lived in Cleveland for 5 years, then moved to STX from Cuyahoga Falls. I was back in Clev last month after not seeing it for a while. Tower City has changed a lot, not as booming, but all the side alley restaurants and bars downtown are great!

It's funny, the first thing someone usually asks you when you say you live in Clev is "East or West Side?"

mminstx:

I live in Cleveland's Ohio City neighborhood, which is the first neighborhood west of the Cuyahoga along the lake. I spend lots of time at Edgewater Park, as my wife and I are avid kayakers and Edgewater is a great place to put in. But I agree with you: Edgewater ain't Cane Bay!

And you're totally right about the East v. West side thing. The ongoing joke in Cleveland is that you need a passport to cross the river.

Does anyone know why the NFL Network station here on STT did not broadcast the Cleveland/Denver game last night?? Is it a local or national decision?? Was it available on Satellite? I have Innovative Cable. Thanks.

They sure did. Buckeyes seem to "choke" alot these days. But made up for it by pounding northwestern. And of course the great loss
penn had. poor joe pa.
Think ohio state has change to the rose bowl?
