Hello all. I am just looking for any and all info you might be able to give me on Club 54,Clientele,atmosphere,trouble,quiet most of the time or a trouble spot ? I have been in there before a few years ago and I can tell the owners have put some money in the place and made a lot of additions.

Does anyone know who owns it and why they are selling it ?

No holding back. What do you really think of the bar ?

young clientele, dirty atmosphere, raucus behavior on street, high drug traffic area.

I have been once, and never went back.

Hmm, sauceys description sounds like Christiansted, in general 😀

The guy who owns it is Joe. PM me if you want his contact info. I just talked to him and the main reason to sell out is to get back to the states.

I've been there on packed nights with live bands and had a crazy blast and also been there on slow nights when you can watch TV and chat with the bartenders. When it's open, it's a popular destination.

It depends on the night, really. Last time i was there was about 2 weeks ago for the Pearl Jam cover band. It was an awesome crowd and i had a blast. i walked through another night and it was not my scene, so i left. i've never been there and had a problem, i know the owner Joe and he's a really nice guy. They're opening up the bar next door (the old Bongos) and it'll be called Tavern 1844. It can be crazy packed outside, though, and sometimes it doesn't look safe but then i don't go - pretty much like anywhere else, be aware of your surroundings. if it looks sketchy, it probably is.

Isn't Club 54 where late at night they have the cage fights?

Terry,

Are you saying mixed martial arts exists on St. Croix? You have my full attention! Where can I find more information?

LOL Cage fights...that would be awesome. They have UFC fights on the TV's there during big matchups. They also usually have the big boxing matches on as well. Joe is a great guy...he rents the club out on many nights to other promotoers so the range of events there is very varied. That's why you may get a broad range of responses as to what 54 is like.

The facility itself is great for live music, unfortunately we don't get enough bands on island to have it live up to its potential.

Thanks for all the info.Music is very big on my list of things to accomplish.

Well while we are on the subject. What happened to the old Bongo's ? It has been a couple of years since we were on island.

it's being completely renovated into Tavern 1844, same owner as Club 54. The old owner ran it into the ground, and racked up a hefty WAPA bill. It was a mess. They were supposed to be open in November, but it got delayed. Maybe open for New Years? Not sure.

I can't wait for St. Pattys Day at Club 54, they usually have a great band that day and the crowd has so much fun.
