Hello Ann,

No Starbucks, but a couple stores carry it.

If you like drip coffee you should be fine. If you want anything more complicated than that and you’re on St Croix you’re out of luck. There are coffee shops but they don’t make espresso drinks like we’re used to from the states. I have been to every coffee shop on St Croix twice or more trying to get a good latte but to no avail. The first thing I do when I get to an airport in the states is get a latte.

Someone told me tonight that Kokopelli on St. Thomas (near Home Depot and Cost-U-Less) has great espresso and coffee drinks.

Service has been less than ideal the past few times we've been there (and the gal I was speaking to tonight concurred about bad service)- but she swears it's worth a trip for the coffee.

Haven't tried it myself, but...for what it's worth..

Best,

LR

New place just opened on the waterfront on STT in Charlotte Amalie called something Latte. Looks like a nice little coffee shop. I have been meaning to stop in there. Will report back for you. Nice view of the ships and such. Just down from Tommy Hilfiger - used to be a Captain's Corner store for those of you on island. Anyone been there?

Oh, yeah- has some weird name. Is it upstairs where Lover's Lane used to be?
Would be interested to hear if it's any good.

I drove by it today. It is called R & J Island Latte. I am thinking of trying it out tomorrow. I will report back! 😉 Side note: Frank's Bake Shop in Sub-base (near Crown Bay Marina) has great donuts and sandwiches. And on the subject The Cream and Crumb in Havensight also has good donuts. I was on a mission to find a coffee shop and ended up finding some great donut shops. Not well known, but you can get a good cup of espresso, cappucino, etc. at Pizza Amore in Havensight as well as really good pizza. Now I am hungry. Gotta run. 🙂

i have visited the new coffee shop on the waterfront. think they opened around the time as "miracle on mainstreet". met the owners, super nice folks, cannot remember names though.....the vanilla bean latte was wonderful......also have a variety of wraps and other goodies for sale. great seeing a new business in town especially a coffee shop offering so many selections. this shop is street level, very accessible. have also visited "beans, bites, and websites", but think the new place has more selection and brewing etc. is always fresh.....as with the owners names, can't remember what it's called.....check them out, worth the stop.....

I know the original post was about cofee houses, but if you want to take some to your villa they have good coffee here. If it is still there.........

Kokopelli is good coffee too to buy and take home. Frankly I don't like Starbucks, over rated as most Seatle-ites will tell you. But they do have the most coffee houses at so many spots, like our grocery stores! 🙂 I'm looking forward to trying out the new shops on STT.

Happy sipping!
