We are relocating in August and have applied for Antilles and All Saint's. Can anyone tell me a little about their experiences with All Saint's - or of a great private school that may not have a web presence?

Thanks!

I am going to be working at All Saint's next year so I am bias. I will say it depends on which side of the islands you live on. They are both good schools. I am sending my son to All Saints though because I will be teaching there. He will be starting kindergarten. The best thing for you to do is tour the schools and see which one is best for you. Good luck.

I'd love to hear some feedback on Antilles as well. Thinking about sending my son there. Not sure if it's worth it for us though, being on St. John. Plenty of kids make the commute from St. John, but I really don't want to add the extra hours to his day, and spend the extra money unless it will be a big benefit for my son. I'd love to hear from any other parents with kids at Antilles....especially anything having to do with a gifted/talented program.

Julie, I went to Antilles and All Saints. There were many kids from St. John who got up early, took the ferry, and then boarded a waiting safari bus to go to Antilles. Ever seen that house over Trunk Bay? The girl that lived there in the 80s, Heidi, who was in my class, lived there and commuted to Antilles every day.

I've gone to five high schools (don't ask) and both Antilles and All Saints are top shelf schools - Antilles frequently is rated as the top K through 12 school in all of the USA. One of the things I fondly remember about Antilles was being in the gifted reading program - I don't know if it still exists, but I would expect something like that to still be there, even 25 years later. I helped Dr. Broadhead setup the 25 Commodore 64s the school bought in 1982, of which no other school I went to, at the time, had a computer lab like that.

None of the people who worked for either Antilles or All Saints are still working at those schools now. It is a bit disturbing to look at the high turn over of people that come to the islands...
