Just curious if there are any consignment or resale shops on STT?

"Home Again" is in the Red Hook shopping center and the Humane Society has an excellent flea market where tremendous bargains can be found. They're only open for a few hours a couple of times a week, I believe on Wednesdays and Sundays but you can call them at 775-0599 for specifics.

Partly because of the transient nature of our population, yard and house sales flourish. When people move back to the mainland it's cost prohibitive to ship back things, especially large furniture items which have either been shipped down or purchased here. In any given week you can scan the Daily News and Island Trader and find loads of yard/house sale ads for STT while The Avis has similar listings for STX.

Hope this helps!

The Salvation Army has a Thrift Shop in the Market Square area next to their church.

Recently someone turned me on to Uniquities, a very nice consignment shop on STX. Upscale furniture, etc, at reasonable prices. I bought a very nice dark wood chest of drawers for a decent price. It's in Peter's Rest in the strip of stores next to Quality Electric. I asked about a couple of other pieces I'd like and she took my "order" and contact info and said she'd call if'/when she gets anything I might want.
