If you're concerned about the proposed marina development, you may be interested in this.

Excellent! I'll be donating. Thanks for posting.
Please share the link so this massive and completely out of place development can be stopped in its tracks.

Not a bad deal.

GoFundMe gets to keep 5% plus 2.9% CC fee plus .30 of each donation.

Not publicly traded, unfortunately. Privately held.

You can donate directly on the CBC website www.coralbaycommunitycouncil.org and if you don't want them to get hit with CC charge you can send them a check .

Geez, cruzaniron, crowdfunding sites like gofundme.com are global marketing sites, and should be part of a broad fundraising campaign.

I haven't seen a post from the Coral Bay group, so thank goodness someone posted the gofundme link.

If nobody knows about you, they can't help you. The internet is making it easier to educate the global community about your case, but most of the time you have to initiate the dialog, ask for a donation, and have a payment processing system. The crowdfunding sites provide that for a minimal fee.

What will the funds be used for? Hasn't the marina development already been approved?

It has local approval, but others have to approve. The money will be used for appeals to fight the approvals.

It has czm approval by 2 board members. It still has to go thru ACE, EPA, NOAA, etc. especially due to endangered species/corals in that bay.

Did you know it takes decades to hundreds of years for corals to grow?

They need money for a number of attorneys and strategies, both local and at the federal level - using very different laws and legal skills. The key people on the core team will be making decisions - and not all at once. Right now our immediate need is at the local level for attorney skills. They will also need funds for the environmental studies they will need to do. Right now we need to raise money for the first round of local attorney work.
