Question regarding yesterday's Daily News story - is "sapphire Condos" the same thing as sapphire beach condominiums? Sorry but I am off island and we often stay at sapphire beach area and I wondered if it was the same area.
"ST. THOMAS - According to St. Thomas police, a man walking on the street near Sapphire Condos was confronted and shot in the face at 4:55 a.m. on Saturday. "

There is no way to tell where this happened from that story. I suspect it was, well, on the street... in the vicinity of the Sapphire complex, NOT on Sapphire property.

Strange news items yesterday...including the robbery at the Mafolie Hotel with the getaway vehicle being a SUV.

I'd bet they would have said just "at Sapphire Beach Condos" so it must have been on Smith Bay Rd.
