Does anyone know the actual Saturday on which the St Patrick Day parade will take place? I called around, and no one seems to know. We have guests who like to come each year for the parade, but some years it's the Saturday before, and some years the Saturday after. They've missed it occasionally by just guessing. The parade is over before the flights get here on the day of...

Yes, Saturday, March 15. I called the organizer hoping it was the following weekend, but alas.... I can't get there until March 19 this year - it will be the first parade I've missed in years.

can you tell me who you spoke to...a PM would be fine. The tourism office did not have a current working phone # for the man they said was in charge, and I told them I'd let them know if I found anything out...sorta backwards, but it is what it is.

Well, I am impressed. Thanks for the link. Wouldn't you think the Dept of Tourism on stx should have had this?? sometimes things baffle me here, even after 20 years. Tourism could tell me that Mr Gross was in charge, and told me where he lived (didn't do me much good since I was off island), but he and they don't appear to have communicated since last year--if then! I was on the phone with them for perhaps 10 minutes---at which point I figured I could find someone who knew the answer right here!
Thanks to all the responders...
I will give this info to tourism, too! Again, they lose potential business for the island by not highlighting things like this parade...along with lots of other things.

beachy,
I agree. They still have a long way to go to promote tourism on St. Croix. This island has so much to offer to so many different types of tourists. Hopefully, things will improve with the new administration...
