Daydreaming

Hello STT and islanders,

I have been reading all the posts for so long I don't know when I started!

I posted a while back about a dance school.

My wife and I own a dance school and daydream of one day moving down to St Thomas. We have spend numerous weeks on the island and the laid back environment, water, and sun can not be beat.
We are apprehensive because we know the "vacations" are not the everyday. The school is going strong (voted one of the top 50 in the country) and we would like to start pursuing "the move". (The school here can run almost on its' own).
I would like to have a dance school on the island. I don't know if there are enough children interested in dance to support a new dance school. We have looked into starting a business that may take off faster, so we have a reason to move and have something to move into. We have looked into the bar, the dollar shop for odds and ends, the bakery and coffee house. I just don't know what avenue to go in because we are not on the island. I don't know what is needed. I would like to start something so that it may support the dance school while it gets on its' feet.
Do the children do gymnastics/ballet/tap/jazz?
What do you all think?
We can not move without a job but I would like to create the job to move for. What does St Thomas need?

I am "antsy" because it is 35 degrees and they are calling for snow in Missouri... Too cold for this guy.
Thanks,
Matthew
Anyone looking to move off the island and sell a pre - existing business in Havensight/downtown/redhook?

My mother-in-law owned a ballet school in Vermont, which she sold, then bought a sailboat, on which she now lives. I belive that she may have looked into the possibilites of opening as school here on STT, but I could be wrong. PM or e-mail me and I will give you her name and e-mail address.
