Well I have to say I was wrong and I apologize to anyone I offended. Still can't imagine a man like that killing himself. I know many people that work with him and everyone says he is such a warm gentleman with a witty dry sense of humor. It just shows you what depression can make a person do and that that we need much better mental health care on this island and need to change this culture's view of mental health care as well.

I would be curious to find out about recent life changing event's that may have taken effect of his life. Medical, personal, etc . My Father put a Spanish 9 mill through his head after being, way over doped for terminal cancer. He did this to protect the future of his wife,my mother. He left no note at all. I say investigate it to the high heavens, anything is possible. It is a sad fact for the family, they were more than likely aware of his frame of mind.

The truth is not always what we want to hear, but there is a lot of things going on that do look a little fishy. He could of in fact been tired of dealing with other peoples lives on a daily basis. Having a big heart and trying to do well for others all the time has got to take hold of a persons mental health. When you are the boss, you can never make everyone happy.

I personally have been there. And yes usually something happened to make a big change in your life. Something you just can't control. So the next thing you know you just cant take it. Sad but true.

I agree there is not enough counseling on this island... support groups.

And men are harder to get to a group for counseling.

The suicide was confirmed. They found 2 pieces of evidence at the crime scene - a kmart bag with a receipt. the receipt had a rope and a bottle of rum on it. video surveillance confirmed that he was there, buying those items. having to explain to your children why their dad isn't around anymore must be so hard. hopefully, he's in a better, happier place.

Unfortunately there will be no way to prove definitively whether his suicide was due to pressure and / or intimidation from criminals from the Christmas murder, or other murder cases. It is very possible that is the case, but that is something we will never know for sure. It really is so very sad.

i heard there were things in the note only he or his family would know??? may he rest in peace. i hope his family will eventually be able to move forward with their lives. we just dont know what goes on in someones private life that makes them feel this is the only solution. im sure many of us on the board have felt that way at one time or another. depression is a terrible thing.

Dreamer,
In your current and past careers I'm sure you know some folks. Maybe off island authorities would get involved if they were made aware of the case. It seems to me that this case is so blatant that the outcome is going to have a strong effect for many on the island. Either to help strengthen and re-affirm faith in the current justice system, even if it sometimes needs off-island assistance. Or it may serve to confirm fears as well as feelings of lawlessness for some. For my part I'm really pulling for a just outcome on this one. I think it's really important.

Dreamer, Maybe some calls could be made 😉

I'm really hoping that some outside help gets called in a full investigation is done covering all levels and that justice is served, whatever that happens to be. I think that many will be watching this case and that the outcome will be pretty important. Either it will serve to deepen peoples fears and lack of faith in the justice system, or it will do the opposite while sending a message to criminals that no matter how much CYA you institute sooner or later justice catches up with you.

The investigation is closed. There is no doubt in the family's mind or law enforcement. Its just a tragedy.

You can't unduplicate but if you do it fast enough you can edit out a post but there's a time limit.
