I've considered using Deckover. The ratings online are poor. Although most complaints are from people that live in the cold snowy north. It seems 3-4 months of snow and ice coverage per year loosen it up. Comments from around here seem to be all positive. Has anyone used it say 4 years ago? If so is it holding up well? Also there isn't a clear answer about putting it over well adhered paint. Can you scuff it and apply Deckover?

I've used it and think it's great.
Painted decks about 4 years ago. It's held up better than any other products I've used, previously both on uncovered and covered decks and stairs. Works well on concrete, too.

I was having to redo the decks every year before my brother in law told me about this product. I'm very happy with the results.

Were I work we carry Restore and Rescue it. Customers have had good and bad experiences with it. I'm in the North East so maybe the winters cause the problems, but what we find most is that they don't read the instructions and do not prepare the surface correctly. This causes it to lift, kind of like elmers glue off your hand when we were kids. 🙂

But those that have followed the instructions, say it's great up here.

Good luck and read the instructions for prep.

Deck Over is very user friendly.
I pressure washed the decks, let them dry and applied.
Goes on like paint, just thicker. You can use a roller or brushes.
I used both. Brushes for edges by walls and railing posts.
2 coats. I have lots of doggie traffic and it's held up extremely well.
Lots of colors to choose from.

We applied it on our old deck three years ago after a throughly pressure washing and filling the holes.

We used a dark green color that was not textured and after a year of being hot to walk on and the dogs leaving mud foot marks we repainted it.

We used a light sand color w/texture and it has been great.

Liked it so much we applied it to our concrete tile pool deck and it's held up great.

Highly recommended.

We used it on our pool and back porch deck back in PA. So it got treated to both very hot sun, and snow and ice conditions. Didn't have a problem.

Thanks for your input everyone! It seems that lots of things have negative reviews online. However what you don't know is how many people are happy with the product.
