Disposing of a junk car

Does anyone know how to dispose of an old junk car on island? Here is the situation: I bought a truck from the previous tenants of my house--and the working truck "came with" a similar model (non-working, totaled) sitting in the bushes (to be used for parts). I have the cancelled registration for the non-working truck but it is not in my name, and never has been in my name. Now, on moving out of my house, the landlord wants me to remove the non-working truck. I would like to just deal with it, get rid of it and not have to contact the previous tenant--any solutions that don't cost a fortune? Thanks!

Have a towing company come and remove it - give them the registration - have the property owner pay to get it towed// removed or call Waste Mgt and report it abandoned and ask for it to be removed. Why would it be your responsibility?

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately the property owner believes it is my responsibility since I was the last tenant, and the former tenants that the vehicle is actually registered to told the property owner that they gave me the vehicle. So everyone (including me) is denying ownership. And the property owner keeps calling me and bugging me about it. After the long weekend, I'm going to contact waste management and see if they can take care of it.

Tell the property owner you are giving it to him and it will now make it his problem......just as the previous tenant gave it to you.

Check phone book for local scrappers in my area they'll pay u 200-400 per car to be scrapped. They come with flat bed and pay cash on scene I'm not sure the process there but worth looking into. Justin
