I just got back from a great kayak dive with Homer at Hull Bay. He mentioned he's starting evening certification classes for those who work days and Saturday night dives. I thought it would be a fun way to spend a Saturday night (warmer than the movie theatre). Both are great ways for locals to enjoy one reason we're here, good local rates, too.

How is it diving from a kayak? We have one, but I have never used it for diving yet, as I have no one to dive with on STX that has one.
Is it hard to get back on the kayak? I'm sure you take off your BCD before trying to get back on.

The thought of someone watching me try to get into a kayak after a dive sends chills up and down my spine. Thank you, but I'll stick to dive boats with nice, stable ladders.

Terry, can I brag a little? You know I've had both knees replaced? Well, for the first time EVER, last week end I was able to shore dive wearing all my equipment into the water, even my weight belt. I don't know who was more excited, me or Ric!

It's a wide inflatable specially made... can't tip it over. You put your BCDs in the back and put them on in the water and hoist them back on. I like the extra exercise of paddling to and back.

I'm so happy for you. That's tough to do sometimes with good knees. Maybe when I come back down in Nov. we can all go diving together.
