Has anyone used this service? It seems like a great idea especially with so many companies not shipping to the VI's.

Sounds interesting but expensive. For a 20lb package they estimated $85 in shipping or 2lbs for $23. Something to keep in mind I guess if you really wanted something that would not ship here.

I haven't because for what I order, I don't have a problem finding places to mail here.

There are also freight forwarding bussinesses , Tropical Shipping & VI Cargo, that will accept packages in Florida and send them on to the VI by boat. I don't remember prices, but lots of people do this for larger items.

Red Hook Mail services and Back Street Boxes both have services to get things to island that don't ship to island directly.

I think Red Hook Mail stopped their state-side service.

Hi Iris,

This seems like a good service and it is always good to have a variety of options.

Currently I keep a P.O. Box at a UPS store in the states. When a package or letter arrives, they send me an email letting me know that something has arrived, forward it to me via US Postal Service Priority Mail, and charge me accordingly.

For larger items, I use Crowley and have found their service to be excellent and reasonably priced. Most recently I used their Miami location to ship a large chair -- the cost was only $80.

That said, the service you linked to could be a very good alternative. Thanks for the info!

Best,
🙂 Mell
