I entered the STX BMV yesterday at 11:30 AM and walked out 40 minutes later with my new driver's license. Not bad. The woman behind cashier window #2 was a real b-tch! The woman at window #1 was great!

I renewed mine on Tuesday on STT.
Everyone was very nice, there weren't any long lines and in and out in 30 minutes.

hubby did his not too long ago, i could have saved him time had he mentioned he was going and looked up the list of things he needed to take.

but other than that-not bad time wise , same with gun permit and registration for my car

I had the same experience registering my car. This proves we are capable of working efficiently, and not get trapped in the "its just the way it is" excuse.

You have it good. In CT recently it took 3 hrs. at DMV to get a replacement title, 1 hr. just to turn in a license plate. Drivers license renewal at AAA, 20 minutes.

Someday we'll get to the 20th century or maybe 21st with the BMV in the VI. I renewed my NC DL online a while back with credit card, receive DL in the mail. They already have digital photo on file. DMV started mailing all DLs a while back, even if you renew in an office. Thieves kept steeling the DL making equipment out of the offices and they wanted to make sure people were providing correct addresses. So no more DL making equipment in the offices.
