Dog stranded at airport in Puerto Rico!

A co-worker is in the process of moving here and his large (150 lb.) dog is apparently stranded by AA Cargo in Puerto Rico and they said they can't get the dog out until early next week. I called Managed Freight and the firm they recommended called Water Spirit but neither deals with animals.

Does anybody else have an idea of how to get the dog to STX faster?

Thanks.

I'm pretty certain Seaborne and Cape Air can't handle a cage this big but I didn't think of Bohlke so I'll give them a call.

OK, I just checked Bohlke's website and now I suspect I know who the jet service is that offered to bring the dog in for $14k!!! I'll call them anyway in the morning just to be sure.

If all else fails, let me know. I can probably get one of the charter yachts to go get him. Don't know the cost but we can always check.

Mike Foster will go get him. He brought all 3 of our rotties and hubby on his plane. All of our rotties weighed over 100lbs. I don't have his number right off hand. Someone posted it on another thread this week. I'll ask hubby when he gets home. I think he has the number.

Not sure what the status is of Four Star. I believe they lost their mail service contract after this fire earlier this year.

Drove past 4 Star on STX the other day and the signs are gone.

You don't say what airport in PR. If you or someone can go to PR, you might try picking up the dog and taking him back on a ferry-at least you can get to St. Thomas that way...there is an ad in Daily News from the 16th that a ferry (no company and no number, go figure) that says there is a ferry leaving Fajardo,PR on 11/29 at 1 to St. Thomas on a thanksgiving special return trip. You might try calling the ferry companies...

Or..Try calling 773-8220-Travel Desk Travel Agency of St. Croix in Gallows Bay and ask about the bush pilot that they use to fly into the down island places-maybe he could do it. Best wishes.
