Doors and Windows

Its time again for us to head south to Water Island for the Winter. This trip we are determined to find someone to help us with replacement of our doors and windows. Currently we have sliding glass doors that don't slide, don't close completely and don't lock. We have windows that are....well, most of them are shot/done thanks to the salty sea environment that takes a toll on metal.

Can anyone provide suggestions/recommendations of a company or individual on STT (or STX if they will come that far!) that will be willing to come over to Water Island, bring their catalogs, listen to what we would like to do (e.g., we're NOT putting in sliding doors ever again. We are going with large windows instead with a single "regular" door providing access to the porch.), provide advice & alternatives, measure, and provide estimate for the windows and the installation. .....I may be asking for too much and I realize that. So, I am interested in recommendations for any or some of the services I just mentioned. Please feel free to PM if you'd rather not post to the broad population. Thanks in advance!

I have posted this same topic before as recently as July/06 and got lots of ideas about the type of doors & windows. Especially some great ideas to replace those aggravating sliding glass doors. But, when I've asked in the past for suggestions / recommendations of a company or individual on STT who might assist us with this project........I didn't receive an answer. I'm not sure why....its kinda puzzling to me actually. Is it perhaps because anyone who needed new doors & windows just did it themselves (measuring, ordering, installation, etc.)? Or, maybe no one has replaced the doors & windows in their whole house?
