My husband and I will be in ST Croix next week following up on a job offer. We are planning a move to the island shortly thereafter. I am in need of any links, contacts, or information we can get regarding adult special needs services. Our son is 20 years old, and has down syndrome. Any information you might have would be helpful!

Thanks so much

I don't know about St Croix, but on St Thomas, I can't think of special services for adults. I think that Maternal Child Health services folks until 21, but not sure of the extent of their offerings on St Croix. Sorry this isn't very helpful, but I gather no one else could think of anything either...

You need to proceed very carefully. Will your son need adult daycare? A sheltered workshop type employment? Are you used to a community of other families that can be counted on for assistance and social contacts? Please make sure we can fill your needs before uprooting your family.
