Hate to be a worry wart, but has anyone heard from Edward the past few days? I know he was supposed to have surgery some time this week and had plans to try and drive himself back home from Christianstead. I know he's a big boy and has taken care of himself just fine for a long time, but I worry about him trying to recover from a surgery alone - especially trying to drive the very next day. I feel extremely useless sitting here in Oklahoma right now, worrying about my friend.

Any info would be appreciated. Y'all have a great day; we'll be there soon!

All is well.

The surgery at the hospital in St. Thomas was perfect. Dr. Bacot was marvelous. The OR team was caring and professional.

I was completely anesthetized from just after they placed me on the table until I woke up in post-op an hour or two later.

They wouldn't discharge me until I had someone to whom they could deliver me. A beautiful lady, member of this forum, came to the hospital, "took delivery," and drove me to the hotel.

I stayed at the hotel last night and got an early afternoon flight on the Seaplane back home to St. Croix. I'm starting rehabilitation now.

I simply cannot believe the kindness of the people on this forum, both those who live in the VI or would like to. 🙂

Edward,

Glad you are well. I second that thought about the people on this forum. I don't know how I would have made it through the last days of my husband's life and his subsequent passing without the kindness and support from members here. It was awesome!

Edward!!! So glad to hear that all went well with your surgery! I've been worried about you all week! 🙂

I talked to Charles last night and, although you've been too kind to say so, we both feel it would be best to postpone our sail. This month will certainly not be the last time we are on island - still hoping to move there some day and meanwhile we'll be visiting as often as we possibly can. You need to spend this time recovering instead of worrying about entertaining guests. We would still like to get together with you for dinner or something if you're up to it by the time we get there. Just let us know. And again, if there's anything we can help you with while we're there, please don't hesitate to ask.

Take care of yourself! Hope to see you soon!

Warmest regards,

Saundra & Charles

I'm so glad you are OK and made it through surgery 🙂

I am flying Stateside to see an orthopedist on Tuesday for knee problems I wish I had known about Dr Bacot sooner but if I need surgery I will consult with him (I'll take my xrays etc) before I decide where to have surgery - although I hope it is not needed.

Get well soon

Pia

Pia,

I'm sure you would be happy with Dr. Bacot. He knows knees!

Low, if you go to Dr Bacon, you'll have to do x-rays again, probably with St Thomas Radiology. The sign in his office says you have to do the x-rays before he sees you. If you decide to see him, make sure you ask if you need new ones.
