Is there a website anywhere or a way to find out the events scheduled at Magen's Bay? I had taken some friends there for a fun afternoon only to find some organization was having a game day on the beach - it was very loud. Is there a way to know if activites are planned on certain days?

There are not many shceduled events held on Magens, but on the weekends there are usually parties held by individuals, family reunions, birthdays, etc. Maybe that was what you heard? Someof them set up pretty loud stereos. Do a search on "Magens Bay Authority" and you might come up with something.

Thanks Marty! It was definitely an organization taking up a large section of the beach - they had set up relay races with refs and coaches, speaker systems, blow horns, whistles and everything, looked like it was for charity. Also looked like a great time, but not what I had in mind for relaxing quietly on the beach! =)

Ahh, that was probably the swim for cancer-thingy that they did a week or two ago. Another place to check would be the St. Thomas/St. John This Week magazine. I think the website is www.stthomasthisweek.com

Hello BeachBum,
Sounds like the annual Royak Regatta that benefits the Boy Scouts. Its actually one of the few events I can think of that takes place at Magens Bay, besides one or two swimathons.
