Fact finding trip

Good morning people, I have been reading this board for sometime and I finally have the opportunity to visit your fine island St Thomas. I currently live in PR and am accustomed to island living, I am flying in on Tuesday for a job interview and need some "in a nut shell facts"

The job is working around the cruise ships, Just me, no spouse, pets, etc, will I be-able to find a short term rental within walking distance of the marina? If so, what price am I looking at? Is there public transportation? Besides taxi's, I just want to make sure this job is solid before I buy a car.

Where can I find information about marina wet slip fee's? I am considering driving my boat from PR to STT, its fully equipped, perhaps it would be cheaper to live on the boat at the marina than rent a apartment.

Are there any cyber cafes? I have read here that some apartments have Internet and some don't, its going to be imperative I stay on the net.

Thank-you in advance, I have tons of questions and most will be repetitive, I understand tourist season is upon us, this opportunity came out of nowhere I hope it flourishes.

Peter

Are you talking about Havensight or Crown Bay or would you be working at both places because cruise ships dock at both.

Ronnie's place would be a good starting place. I'd assume you could get a dollar taxi if you're not a walker & according to his site, wireless is available.

There are cyber cafes in the Havensight area & downtown as well as other places on the island.

Trade: Don't forget- YOU started it this year! 🙂 They were playing carols at K-Mart last week. I am still waiting to hear "Ho, Ho, Ho! How will Santa get here?" for the first time this season...
