I realize that I may get some people irritated with me since this is such a sensitive subject...I may even be called an irresponsible pet owner for trying to re-home my cat, however, it must be done. The cat: 'Charlie' is about 3-4 years old, orange tabby, small, very personable, ok with dogs (he gets along well with our 14 year old English Setter), and is an excellent hunter (catches mice, rats...even a MONGOOSE!)...BUT my 9-10 year old cat HATES him! The two of them get into fights daily and it has become a very stressful situation for all of us in the household. I will not get rid of my older cat as she has been with me through a lot and she was here first, so to speak. The new guy on the block is the one we have to find a new home for. He is neutered, is on monthly flea/tick treatment and has had all of his shots (Progressive Vet on STX). If anyone is interested or would like any more information or pictures, let me know. I want to find him a home with people who will love him...makes me sad that it has to be this way but the cat fights have GOT to stop!!
Finding a home for my cat...
At one point in time Jamison had 17 dogs and puppies, and found homes for them all through Facebook and Pets from Paradise. He spends considerable time and his own money to save dogs. One recent post from him on Facebook said he got 6 calls that day from people about stray dogs needing help!!!
I don't know Jamison personally, but I cannot say enough good things about what he has been doing for the dogs (and cats) of St Croix. Not to mention the others on St Croix who work tirelessly to help the cats and dogs (there are several but I won't name names but those in the Facebook groups know who they are)
Yes any dog owner should definitely check out his website.
Jamison goes above and beyond, and has been training (himself and dogs) very hard. In case you haven't seen it, check out his new venture, and note his discounts for adopted dogs.
And on Facebook:
Katie Nelson, Jamison's GF just asked if if you have any pics of the kitty she can share on their Facebook page since I shared your dilemma.
You can PM me with link or contact her, directly.
I'll pm you her Facebook page link.
Jamison can always use donations as well whether it be money, kennels, food, heartworm, flea meds, etc.
Alana, just sent you a PM and sent Katie a message and picture. Thank you!!
You're very welcome.
I hope it all works out.
We have so many animals that need homes here in the VI but "stuff happens" and you're doing your best to do the responsible thing.
Always happy to help when it comes to animals and the humans that care and love them.
