Finding long term rentals St. Croix

I have been looking for weeks now and it seems there is no one place to find a comprehensive listing of rental homes. We don't get a pre-move visit, so intstead of griping about that, I am trying hard to look at rental homes online.
The last thing I want to do is have to go to every single real estate office to have them show me around, I don't want them all to feel like we are obligated to them or anything. The newspaper is pretty sparse in listings as well. All I can find are these ridiculously priced tourist villas at $1600+ per week.

Is the rental market on St. Croix that small, or is it just that there is no one place to find rental listings?

We leave for STX April 16th and have a maximum of 2 weeks to find a long term rental.

Thanks for any input,
Brandy

Brandy,
Depends what you're looking for. The market on three and four bedrooms is very small. When we moved here last year I contacted literally every brokerage on the island and had two houses to look at. The house we rented happened to break in the paper the same day we arrived. There are generally several one and two bedroom condos listed in the Avis. I had no luck working online and was very frustrated by the lack of information. Good places go fast- they don't make it online, and they don't stay in the paper long. You will probably find, as I did, that you have to be here for anyone to take you seriously as a rental prospect. So- what are you looking for? # Bedrooms, location, amenities, price range? If I see anything I'll give you a shout.

Brandy,
My neighbor across the road has two small two bedroom cottages available. Email me if you want more information.
