First Month Impressions

Just completed my first month of relocation to St. Croix. Here are a few impressions:

There are more housing options than I had expected.

People are friendly and professional. I’ve had hundreds of encounters getting settled in; not one unpleasant experience.

I’ve found everything I need to get set up at some good places: OfficeMax, Broadband VI, Computer Solutions, Kmart, Henderson International, Gallows Bay Hardware, SCUBA, Jones Maritime, Undercover Books, and several restaurants and supermarkets, among others. Prices are about as expected.

Motorists are incredibly courteous.

Innovative cable has a generous supply of programs.

Electricity was out once, for about 30 minutes.

My three PMVs were essential in preparing for the permanent move.

Edward: You were extremely organized in your approach to moving. Also, because of your background, I wonder if your expectations are different from many stateside folks. But I am also glad you are settling in! Welcome!
