STT-Yacht Haven Grande. A good place to open a store?

Can anyone give me some feedback on Yacht Haven Grande and how the foot traffic has been in that complex? I've only walked through it once this past January and didn't see much traffic. We currently have a jewelery store in STX and are thinking of opening one up in YHG. We make simple toursisty $50 silver pieces but also make gold / diamond rings, some gold pieces and some rare high end one of a kind pieces starting around $2k up to $22k.

Does the complex get any cruise ship passengers or do the passengers take a taxi from the ship directly to downtown / main st. and bypass YHG alltogether? We realize YHG does get very large yachts docked out front and are hoping the sale of at least one really high end piece a month will suffice but we're also hoping to capture some of the cruise ship passengers as well. I've heard other high end jewelry stores have come and gone in YHG. Any information is helpful.

If you are interested in the cruise ship trade, I would look at Port of Sale or Havensight Mall.

I don't know about St. Thomas but in Jamaica I observed how the jewlery guys would get customers....They were /are paying off the taxi drivers to bring them to that specific location. I saw money/alcohol change hands from the shop keeper to the drivers more than a few times........seems like a reliable way to get the" traffic";)
