Where can I get a flu shot on STX, fast and cheap?
Last year, I went to a doctor who charged a lot ($60). The previous year I went to Charles Harwood clinic who charged less ($30, I think) but it took two trips and several hours of waiting. Are there less expensive doctors, or any flu clinics scheduled at the supermarkets or Sunshine Mall? I recall fast and cheap flu clinics years ago but haven’t noticed them recently.

i believe every year there is mention of a time and place for flu shots. i have ( i think ) heard it on the local radio. you could call the clinic and ask if they will be having it somewhere other than the clinic.

This bulletin from the DOH dated December 2013 provides contact numbers for information on 'flu shots. The new season is coming up, so suggest calling them to see if anything has yet been lined up for this year:

Don't they usually have free flu shot drives sponsored by DOH or Rotary every year?
On the mainland, the big pharmacy chains do them for free.

Frederiksted clinic has flu shots, you can walk in and register for a nurse visit. Last year they offered free flu shots for one month, not sure about this year - but even if it's not free, will def be a lot cheaper than $60 (prob around $20-25ish, not 100% sure though).
The wait shouldn't be extremely long for it, but it all depends on how slammed the clinic is and/or whether or not they are short-staffed.

you can call immunization clinic at CH and ask them if they will be doing any free clinics. Sometimes they do one or two in October, and then at other programs through the year, like Ag Fair etc. When I was working on stx I arranged for them to come and do a clinic for our employees for free...but we had a lot of employees.

Listen to community bulletins. There is usually a drive at the sunshine mall on or about October 1st which is the official start of flu season. The vaccines are free. So is pneumonia vaccines for old tarts, Old Tart.
