Yes. My attempt at humor may have been a little feeble

A good sense of humor and a sturdy broom are always essential and particularly during hurricane season when the hysteria levels rise disproportionately at the first showing of a tropical storm. But I do need to check the wind shear gauge on that broom as it tends to stick a little, Some melted tree frog fat will take care of that - come along little chirpers, where are you hiding today? Come to Mama.

Have heard rum and tree frog fat with a squeeze of lime can be quite tasty! Hopefully with all the rain the little chirpers will be out in full force.

Now I'm wondering what will happen. It looks like the Sahara Dust is messing with it and it has fallen apart a bit.

So should we be bottling water and filling jugs for toilet flushing for this strength of storm? Do we typically lose power? Close hurricane shutters? I have all other preps but first time with anything coming close so not sure. Watching it on radar. Thanks.

I always assume the power will go out and prepare accordingly. I'm not bothering with storm shutters though.

We lose power when it rains hard (or not) so best to prepare for outages, just in case.
I took down my birdfeeders, wind-chimes, hanging plants and moved plants off the deck railings. May move the more fragile plants inside. Charge the cell phone!

I'm not moving a darned thing for a little tropical storm but I did fill a couple of gallon jugs of water just in case the power goes out for a bit so I can "shower" if necessary. Oh, and the tree frogs were nice and fat, the wind shear/directional gauge on the broomstick is now working just fine and all is well!

Not much happening here on Northside/STT which is a good thing in my mind.
Just listening to water trickling into cistern ( a joyus sound) but it's not even raining hard, nor has it been, just a drizzle and there really is no wind to speak of. At least power is still on. (fingers crossed it stays that way!)

Guess I'll put my wind chimes back up. They really get noisy if there's lots of wind since I have quite a few. Hope eveyone stays safe and enjoys a rainy day(s).

Finally starting to get some good, heavy rain!
A bit of thunder and an occassional good gust.
I'll hold off on the wind chimes. 🙂

Northshore STX
Just had a wonderful heavy rain for about 45 minutes. Added 2 or 3 inches to the pool. Cisterns are full. 78 degrees with a nice breeze....

A little rain (1.25") and a little wind and no power for 14.5 hours!
No cable for 5 hours due in part to the WAPA outage.

Could not even reach WAPA until 2pm to report the outage after the power dropped at 545am. And they had a new Call Center in effect! Right! Two cans and a string based on our experience.

So, at 1130pm, some idiot from WAPA calls to see if our power if back!

How terribly rude of them to check on your situation. One can only hope against hope that a severe hurricane doesn't come through and leave you without power and TV for up to six months.
