My fiance' and I are coming to STX for a PMV in January and I was curious if anyone knows of local events or celebrations during this time? We are making a long list of things we want to do and accomplish while we are enjoying ourselves on the island. Thanks!

Me and a few friends did the Gecko ATV tour through the rainforest this weekend. I've lived here for 10 years and didn't realize how much fun that could be. Highly recommend this activity...great views of the island from the tops of mountains!

That sounds like a lot of fun and i will definitely put that on top of our list! We definitely want to do some interesting things while we are there but we also want to experience some things like locals. Do you have any other advice for activities? Thanks again!

Too bad you are going to miss the Crucian Carnival... it is a few days prior to your arrival...

Look on the calendar mentioned by Speee1dy for Garry and Christine's Beer of Fortune usually at Above the Cliff. Simple but very fun bar game and a chance to meet some nice locals.

actually the calendar I get via email is www.stcroixcalendar.com. Don't know if that's the same one or not.

We are really looking forward to our visit! I love Austin but I am ready for a new place. Can anyone recommend a nice church on the island for Sunday service? We go to a Baptist church here. We are staying in Christiansted Harbor. Thanks.

Holy Cross is the Catholic Church in town.

Very cool church and Mass is a lot different than in the states (In a good way)

I used that name because that is the way it is listed at the calendar in gotostcroix.com. I felt it would be easier for the OP to catch it instead of calling it something else as it is not listed as the "Three Kings Festival & Parade @ Frederiksted".
