Any suggestions on where to donate or sale essentially a house full of high end furnishings (bedroom sets, living room furniture, etc) for someone who has left island. I am familiar with Uniquities, Closet to Closet, and The Animal Shelter Thrift Store, but would like to know what other options are out there, preferably somebody who will bring a truck and pick the stuff up. The owner is only interested in charitable donations but would sell some stuff (not direct sales to individuals) and then donate the proceeds to charity.

Look in the phone book for a list of possible charities.
Look on page 42.

Try Freecycle : [email protected]. Stuff must be free, but recipients must pick up.

Lutheran Social Services. They have a vehicle, they have men who will pick it all up. Lutheran Social Services puts people to work, it's a good cause. Not that the other charities aren't....

All the Charities and Non Profits are listed starting on Page 42 in the VI phone book.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I was pretty much looking for personal recommendations on why specific charities should be considered as opposed to just picking random charities out of the phone book.

Public schools could use some furnishings in the teacher lounges. I'm sure someone could arrange pickup.

Why don't you call around and see which Charities/Non Profits would be best suited to accept the type of donations you have.
Some may have more specific needs than others and this specific type of donation might not be suitable for certain organizations.
Maybe one of the Charites can organize a raffle for the high end furniture.
Do you homework and am sure you'll come up with the right organizations.
Good Luck,
