Hi Everyone:

Coming to STT for a couple days and was wondering if anyone knows anything about either the Galleon House or the Bunker Hill Hotel. I'm coming w/ a friend, and we don't need to stay in luxury...just a place to shower and crash. I've narrowed my search to these two.

I've stayed in the Bunker Hill Guest Hotel. I liked it. I think it was like $88 per night. Its clean, has cable tv, some rooms have refridgerators ( ask for one of those rooms), some might even have micro waves, it has a small swimming pool, it one bloc from main street. I have also stayed at the Holiday Inn. The Holiday Inn has a restaurant and breakfast coupons, and really nice and helpful bartenders. The Holiday Inn is probably an even better location for you depending on what you need to do while you are there. Have fun.

I stayed at Galleon a few years ago when I was down for the bar exam. They have both "European style" (i.e., no bathroom) rooms, as well as regular rooms w/ balconies, and something in between (pvt bath but no balcony?) I lucked out with a balcony room even though I had reserved a lower priced one becuase of a booking problem.

Staff was FANTASTIC. V. reasonably-priced for the island and area. Safe. Breakfast (and they really cook it, it's not a self-serve bar) included w/ room.

Herve, a chi-chi French restaurant is right next door. Pricy, but amazing food.

Thanks for the info. I've booked the Bunker Hill Hotel. It was a little cheaper. I don't think it's far from Main St. And hopefully it will be safe.
